What Kinfold does — and what we refer elsewhere

Inside our scope: gathering, sorting, grouping, labelling and inventorying the papers your household holds. Writing plain-language orientation notes. Coordinating scanning and backup onto your own devices. Running structured working sessions with you in person or by video call.

Outside our scope: any matter requiring a licensed professional — legal interpretation, financial planning, medical records, immigration or court proceedings. Where a question of that kind arises during a session, we note it in writing and invite you to consult a qualified professional.

Kinfold provides general information, education and administrative coordination only. No regulated advice is offered or implied.

Household Documentation Course

Four sessions across five weeks, designed so that more than one family member understands where everything is. Sessions cover mapping what you hold, building a naming system anyone can follow, scanning and device backup, and writing a one-page orientation note. Taught as education and administration — no regulated matters covered.

  • Workbook and template pack
  • Orientation note
  • 30-day email question window
  • Up to 4 family members · 4 × 90 min

3-month programme

Family Archive and Handover Programme

For households where papers have spread across rooms, devices and generations. Over twelve weeks, the coordinator inventories every container, separates active records from archive, scans and indexes the digital set onto your own storage, rebuilds a labelled physical set, and writes a full orientation document. Two family walkthrough sessions ensure the knowledge is shared. Purely administrative work throughout.

  • Inventory, indexed archive, labelled physical set
  • Orientation document and open-questions register
  • Annual review calendar and two walkthroughs

Why families choose Kinfold

These are practical, administrative reasons — not promises of outcomes.

Unhurried pace

Sessions run on your schedule. Nothing is rushed. Questions are welcome and noted, not brushed aside.

Clear scope, every session

We begin each engagement by stating plainly what we will and will not do — so there is no confusion about where administrative support ends.

Knowledge shared, not hoarded

Longer programmes include walkthrough sessions specifically so that two or more household members — not just one — know where everything is.

Your devices, your storage

Digital sets are placed on your own storage — not ours. We coordinate the process; you retain full ownership and access at all times.

Written deliverables you keep

Every session produces something tangible: an inventory, a folder plan, an orientation note. These stay with your household permanently.

Referrals, not guesses

When a regulated question arises — legal, financial, medical — we note it in your open-questions register and suggest the right professional for it.

Is your household ready to bring the papers together?

Whether you have one folder or an entire room of accumulated paperwork, there is a place to begin. Send an enquiry and we will suggest the most fitting starting point.

Common questions

Plain answers about how Kinfold works, what to expect and what is not covered.

What does "administrative coordination" actually mean in practice?
It means a coordinator sits with you — in person at your home in Kuala Lumpur, or by video call — and helps you physically sort, label, group and list the papers your household holds. We are doing the organising work alongside you. We do not analyse documents for legal or financial meaning, and we do not prepare submissions or make filings on your behalf.
What kinds of documents does Kinfold help with?
Everyday household documents: MyKad and passport copies, birth and marriage certificates (as copies held at home), school and university certificates, employment records, tenancy agreements, utility account letters, insurance policy schedules, bank statements and similar correspondence. We work with whatever a household has gathered over the years. We do not advise on the legal standing of any document.
How long does the sorting session take and how should I prepare?
The sorting session runs for two hours. No preparation is required — gathering everything into one place before we begin is actually part of what we do together. If you have papers in multiple rooms or stored in different ways, please just leave them as they are: the first step is always taking stock of what exists and where.
What happens if a document raises a question I cannot answer?
We note it. Every session produces a gap list or open-questions register alongside the inventory. If a question relates to a regulated matter — what a document means legally, how to proceed with a filing, what rights it confers — that question goes into the register with a note to consult a qualified professional. We never speculate on regulated matters.
Are sessions held in-person or online? Where do you serve?
In-person sessions are available for households in the Klang Valley area, primarily Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Mont Kiara, Damansara and surrounding areas. Video sessions are available anywhere in Malaysia. The single sorting session and the course can both be run fully by video call if preferred.
What is included in the course price and how are the sessions spaced?
The Household Documentation Course (RM 1,580) covers four sessions of 90 minutes each, spread across five weeks. Up to four family members may join. The price includes the workbook, a template pack, the orientation note produced in the final session, and a 30-day window during which you may send questions by email. There are no hidden add-ons.
How is the digital archive kept safe? Do you hold copies?
All scanned files are placed directly onto your own devices and chosen storage — an external drive you provide, your home NAS, or a cloud account you control. Kinfold does not retain copies of your documents after a session concludes. What we do is coordinate the scanning, naming and folder structure so the result is consistently indexed and readable by any family member.
